High grade cancer according to NCI dictionary of cancer terms is a cancer where the cancer cells microscopic appear very differently as compared to normal cells. High grade cancer cells grow faster and spread quickly as compared to low grade cancers.
These grades of cancers are an indicator of cancer staging system, that aids doctor to ascertain how big the cancer and how far its spread. Cancer Research UK, defines cancer in 3 grades that signifies level of differentiation in tumor cells.
Grade1 – cancer cells are well differentiated and similar to normal cells. They grow slowly and cancer is at early stage of cancer.
Grade2 – cancer cells appear abnormal and grow quickly. They spread into nearby tissues and lymph nodes.
Grade3 – cancer cells are at advance stage and poorly differentiated and spread all over the
body.
Cancer is a fatal disease, but it can be treated when diagnosed at an early stage and appropriate treatment is received. Know about the cancer very well and be aware of each symptoms you have.
