The pancreas is a gland deeply located in the abdomen, between the stomach and the spine. It has three components: the head of the pancreas, the middle section is the body, and the thin end is called the tail.
It produces hormones such as insulin that helps regulate the level of blood sugar and enzymes that are used by the intestine to digest food. These enzymes are transported to the pancreas, eliminated in the common bile ducts that carry them into the intestine.
Pancreatic cancer or pancreatic cancer occurs when cells in the pancreas develop uncontrollably. A tissue or tumor mass may form; sometimes this meal is benign (not cancerous). However, in pancreatic cancer, the mass is usually malignant (cancerous).
