What is Oral Cancer?
Oral cancer, called oral cavity cancer, describes a class of cancers that develop in the mouth region.
It most often occurs at the level of the tongue, lips or lower region of the mouth, but it may also appear in the cheeks (oral mucosa), gums, the mouth of the mouth (soft palate and soft palate), tonsils or salivary glands.
Oral cancer can also develop in the oropharynx, which is part of the neck area.
